Social Committee
The Social Committee organizes a social activity each month for members of the congregation and friends. Although dates, locations and activities can change on a yearly basis, there are a few that tend to stay regular.
· Burger Bash: This event kicks off the school-year the Sunday after Labour Day. After church, the entire congregation is invited to gather on the lawn for hot-dogs, burgers, baked beans and ice cream, provided free of charge by the Social Committee.
· Christmas Pot-Luck Dinner: In November, we have a pre-Christmas potluck dinner where everyone is invited to “bring enough for your family plus a little bit more”. There is always a wonderful spread of food and enough for all.
· Chili Cook-Off: In January, people are invited to make a pot of chili and enter it in the competition or just come along to enjoy a multitude of different flavours!
· Good Friday Morning Breakfast: Enjoy a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, egg, and toast, followed by Good Friday morning worship.
· Church Picnic: In June, the end of the school year is celebrated with the Church picnic held on the east lawn of the church. Everyone brings some sandwiches to share while watching the children (and adults) play traditional picnic games like the egg & spoon race, tug-of-war and the shoe toss.
